Amazon Cargo Plane Crashes in Miami Killing Five
Amazon's Prime Air cargo plane crashed at Miami International Airport on September 7th, killing five people and injuring five others. The Boeing 767-300 aircraft was operating Flight 7598 from San Juan, Puerto Rico, when it left the runway and struck vehicles before catching fire.
The crash sent emergency crews scrambling to manage the wreckage, rescue those trapped, and contain a fuel leak. Nearly 200 personnel and 60 fire apparatus were deployed in the effort. Three of the injured were taken to trauma centers in critical condition, while two others received hospital treatment.
The National Transportation Safety Board has launched an investigation into the cause of the crash, with the Federal Aviation Administration providing assistance. Amazon stated it is working with authorities as more details emerge.
