Amazon Cargo Plane Crashes Off Runway in Miami
A Boeing 767-300 aircraft carrying an Amazon cargo plane skidded off the runway at Miami International Airport on September 6, crashing into several vehicles and catching fire.
At least 5 people died in the incident, while 3 others were taken to trauma centers in critical condition. Two more were treated at a local hospital.
The plane was carrying the Prime Air 7598 flight from San Juan, Puerto Rico, when it landed at Miami airport and then veered off the runway. The victims were trapped in vehicles hit by the plane, requiring technical rescue forces to conduct a complex operation to search for survivors.
Images of the scene show thick smoke rising from the Boeing 767 as firefighters dispatched over 60 vehicles and nearly 200 personnel to the accident area.
