Amazon.com Sees Surge in Institutional Investment Amid Generac Deal
De Lisle Partners LLP has invested in Amazon.com, Inc., acquiring 4,000 shares of the e-commerce giant's stock valued at approximately $953,000 during the second quarter. This investment is part of a larger trend where institutional investors and hedge funds are buying into Amazon's stock, with 72.20% of the company owned by such entities.
Amazon's recent deals and initiatives have been a major draw for investors. The company agreed to purchase up to $8 billion of backup generators from Generac, including approximately $2.4 billion of deliveries in 2027-2028, which should help bring AWS data centers online despite grid-connection delays and power shortages.
Analysts point to accelerating AWS demand, with a $169 billion annualized revenue run rate and a large cloud backlog, supporting expectations that AI-related infrastructure spending can translate into future sales. Amazon's Project Mercury aims to expand its same-day delivery network to over 1,000 hubs by 2031.
