Amazon Commits $1.9B to Boost Delivery Driver Pay, Safety Efforts

Amazon has announced plans to invest $1.9 billion in its Delivery Service Partner program by 2027, a move aimed at supporting delivery service partner owners in increasing driver pay to nearly $24 per hour nationwide.

The investment represents an average 16% pay increase over the past three years for delivery associates across the US.

The company attributes a 23% decrease in serious vehicle crashes last year to safety investments totaling more than $543 million since 2022 and leadership from delivery service partner owners.

Amazon is also deploying surround-view cameras in Rivian electric delivery vehicles, with installation expected in 50% of the fleet by year-end.
