Amazon Customers May Get Up to $200 in Revised FTC Settlement
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has announced revised terms for a $2.5 billion settlement between Amazon and affected customers who were enrolled in Prime subscriptions without their knowledge or consent.
The FTC alleged that tens of millions of customers were enrolled in Prime without proper notice, making it difficult to cancel the membership.
Eligible customers may receive up to $200 in automatic payments, with total payments capped at this amount. To qualify, customers must have signed up for a Prime subscription through an enrollment flow challenged in the case between June 23, 2019 and June 23, 2025, used no more than 20 Prime benefits in any 12-month period after enrolling.
Amazon has already issued over $845 million in refunds as of this month. Payments will be sent by mailed check or electronic payment (PayPal or Venmo) by April 2027.
