Amazon Cuts Fire TV Options by a Third
Amazon has simplified its Fire TV streaming device lineup, reducing the number of options from five to four. The change comes as the company prepares for its Prime Day event next week.
The new lineup includes the Fire TV Stick HD, which was launched earlier this year with a slimmer design and retails for $35; the Fire TV Stick 4K, priced at $60; the Fire TV Stick 4K Max, one of Engadget's favorite streaming dongles last year; and the Fire TV Cube, which was last updated in 2022 and launched at $140.
The company has eliminated the Select and Plus variants, making it easier for consumers to navigate its product offerings. The new Fire TV Stick 4K will be half off during Prime Day, making it a solid deal at $30.
