Amazon Debuts Redesigned Kindles with Sleek New Features
Amazon has revamped its entire Kindle e-reader lineup to celebrate its 20th anniversary. The new Kindles include a redesigned basic Kindle, Kindle Paperwhite, and Kindle Colorsoft, as well as kid-friendly versions of each.
The new devices have thinner, lighter designs and come in new colors such as ube, alpine sky, and seaglass green. The standard Kindle now has a flush-front display and an optional aluminum back, previously exclusive to the 'Signature Editions' of the Kindle Paperwhite and Colorsoft.
The prices for the fresh e-readers remain the same as their predecessors, which saw price hikes due to a global memory shortage: $149.99 for the basic Kindle, $199.99 for the Kindle Paperwhite, and so on.
A new line of accessories has also been launched, starting at $35. These include a page-turning remote called the Kindle Click, charging stand, and sling bag.
