Amazon Deploys AI-Powered Scam Detector via Alexa

Amazon has introduced a new tool to help customers verify whether messages they receive are genuine or scams. The feature, part of Alexa for Shopping, uses artificial intelligence to analyze the message and compare it against Amazon's record of sent communications.

The tool examines factors such as who sent the message, its content, when it was sent, and formatting. If it determines with certainty that a message is from Amazon, it will confirm this in real-time. Otherwise, it may provide guidance to retry or contact Amazon's verification email address, verify@amazon.com.

The tool is currently available only in the United States through Alexa for Shopping and serves as part of Amazon's broader efforts to educate and empower customers against scams.
