Amazon Doubles Down on Shreveport Data Centers with Additional $6 Billion Investment
Amazon has announced plans to invest an additional $6 billion in Shreveport's data center development project, bringing its total investment to $18 billion. This move comes just months after the company revealed it would be building $12 billion worth of new data centers across Caddo and Bossier Parishes.
The expansion includes a third state-of-the-art data center campus at Shreveport's Resilient Technology Park, which is expected to create 210 direct new jobs. The three planned campuses are projected to generate over 700 new job opportunities in the northwest region.
Amazon will also invest up to $400 million in public water infrastructure to support its three campuses, with the company working closely with local utilities to ensure enough capacity for the facilities and existing customers.
Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry praised Amazon's decision, stating that it 'sends a clear message about what they have experienced here.' He noted that the company's confidence in Louisiana demonstrates its trust in the state's workers, business environment, and ability to execute on ambitious projects.
