Amazon Drivers Used as Disguise in California Burglary

A group of thieves in California used a clever ruse to break into a house and steal valuable items worth around $70,000. The suspects, who were caught on camera, disguised themselves as Amazon delivery drivers to gain access to the property.

According to homeowner Donna Kato, the thieves used a side gate to enter the backyard and smashed a sliding glass door to get inside. They then disabled the alarm system and cameras before making off with an unbolted safe containing Kato's late mother's diamond, emerald, and gold necklace, as well as other valuable items.

The same vehicle was captured by a license plate reader entering Milpitas two hours before the burglary and leaving the city minutes after it occurred. Private investigator Marc Hinch told ABC7 that there may be other victims of this organized crew.
