Amazon Expands Drone Delivery Service to Nearly 500 Cities This Year
Amazon is expanding its drone delivery service this year to nearly 500 cities and towns across the United States. The expansion represents a sixfold increase from the current drone footprint, which currently serves customers in seven states.
The new areas where Prime Air will be available include major metropolitan regions such as Chicago, Illinois; Syracuse, New York; Cleveland, Ohio; Atlanta, Georgia; and Boise, Idaho. By the end of 2026, Amazon plans to reach customers in nearly 500 cities and towns with its ultrafast drone delivery service.
According to David Carbon, vice president of Amazon Prime Air, 'Customers already turn to Amazon for fast same- and next-day delivery, and Prime Air provides them an even speedier option when they need it, with deliveries in as fast as 30 minutes.'
