Amazon Expands Robotics Operations with $100M Indiana Facility

Amazon is expanding its robotics operations by investing over $100 million to build a new facility in Greenwood, Indiana. The plant is set to open by 2028 and will be Amazon's fourth robot-making factory.

This new facility is part of the company's efforts to double its number of robot-manufacturing plants, following the announcement of another robotics hub in Austin, Texas last month.

Since acquiring Kiva Systems for $775 million in 2012, Amazon has deployed over a million robots in its warehouses, which have helped reduce recordable workplace injuries by more than 40% and created high-paying, skilled jobs.
