Amazon has announced plans to expand its same-day delivery service to Louisville, Kentucky. The e-commerce giant will be opening a new facility on a 324,000-square-foot site in Jefferson County, which is expected to bring hundreds of full- and part-time jobs to the area.

The facility will use advanced robotics and streamlined operations to complete orders within specified timeframes. Amazon stated that full-time workers at the facility will be paid an average of $23 per hour, plus benefits starting on their first day.

Louisvillians will have access to 1-hour, 3-hour, and free same-day delivery on paper, beauty, and health items. This expansion is part of Amazon's plan to provide ultra-fast delivery speeds that customers increasingly expect.
