Amazon Expands Video Podcasts to More Regions, Boosts Creator Monetization
Amazon Music is expanding its video podcast offerings to customers in Canada, the UK, Mexico, Brazil, and Japan. This move comes after the company first introduced video podcasts to US subscribers in May. The expanded service includes partnerships with hosting providers like Omny Studio and Flightcast, as well as shows from SiriusXM, Megaphone, and Libsyn.
The added monetization capabilities allow creators to insert video ads into their shows, while retaining existing brand sponsorships and baked-in ads. This feature is available for all participating creators, giving them full ownership of their hosting, ad inventory, and audience monetization.
This push into video podcasting reflects the growing demand from consumers for multimedia content, as seen in industry data. With this expansion, Amazon Music aims to provide customers with a more engaging experience across various formats.
