Amazon Faces Potential $200 Refund Payouts for Millions of Misled Prime Subscribers
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has expanded and accelerated payments under its $2.5 billion settlement with Amazon, potentially resulting in bigger refund checks for affected customers.
Under the revised order, the maximum payout has been raised from $51 to $200, and all future payments will be made automatically without requiring claims or paperwork.
The expanded pool of eligible consumers now includes those who used between 11 and 20 Prime benefits in a one-year period, bringing the total number of affected individuals to millions more than initially thought.
