Amazon Faces Wrongful Death Lawsuit After Cargo Plane Crashes at Miami International Airport

A wrongful death lawsuit has been filed by Yaraisi Santiso Morejon against Amazon, the operators of an Amazon cargo plane that crashed at Miami International Airport on September 6. The suit alleges multiple failures contributed to the crash, including pilot error and inadequate training.

The plane overran a runway and struck vehicles on airport property, killing five people and injuring five others. Yoel Rodriguez Naranjo, Morejon's husband, was driving one of the vehicles hit in the crash.

Morgan & Morgan attorney Mike Morgan stated that 'this was not a freak accident, but a foreseeable and preventable disaster caused by negligence.'

The lawsuit names Amazon, Inc., Amazon Air Cargo, 21 Air LLC, related companies involved in operating the plane, the aircraft's lessors, and pilots Joseph Carroll and Jaime Felipe Silva Molina as defendants.
