Amazon Gives Away Alexa+ on Eligible Fire TV Devices

Amazon is offering its AI platform Alexa+ for free to eligible Fire TV users. The move comes after the company announced earlier this year that Alexa+ would be available as a separate $19.99 monthly plan, or locked behind a Prime subscription.

The current-generation Fire TV devices will receive the free upgrade, which includes features like complex question answering and smart home control. Amazon says millions of customers are already using Alexa+ on their Fire TVs, with users having almost twice as many chats with the bot as they did with Alexa.

Alexa+ delivers a 'smarter, more conversational voice experience' compared to its original counterpart, according to Amazon. The assistant remembers user preferences and returns relevant recommendations, making it easier for users to find what they're looking for.
