Amazon Gives Employees 10% Off Groceries Online, 20% Off in Stores
Amazon is launching a new employee benefit that will give all US employees a discount on groceries. Starting October 1, 2026, employees will receive 10% off eligible purchases online and 20% off in Whole Foods Market stores, with no cap on savings.
The discount applies to everyday essentials, including fresh produce, dairy, cleaning supplies, pet food, and toiletries. It also stacks with other savings, such as Prime discounts, coupons, and Subscribe & Save. This means that if an employee already receives a 10% discount for being a Prime member, the grocery discount will apply on top of that price.
The Employee Grocery Discount is designed to make everyday shopping more affordable for Amazon employees. With this benefit, they can save money on their regular purchases, which can add up over time. Jason Buechel, VP of Amazon Worldwide Grocery Stores and CEO of Whole Foods Market, stated that the discount connects to the same grocery offering that Amazon has been building for customers.
