Amazon Gives Sellers AI Superpower

Amazon has launched a free, optional AI service for third-party sellers, allowing them to automate ordinary e-commerce chores. The new Amazon Seller Assistant service uses AI agents known as 'workflows' that continuously carry out activities based on the seller's instructions.

Sellers can use the system to track product pricing, receive warnings when ratings fall and manage inventory, among other tasks. The software also constructs profiles for individual sellers and uses that data to make recommendations on price, promotions, and inventory management.

The service is voluntary and free, with sellers having control over how much personal data they share with Amazon. It can integrate with AI tools merchants already use via plug-ins, including Amazon's own tools and Anthropic's Claude at launch.
