Amazon Haults Cargo Flights with Carrier 21 Air Amid Plane Crash Investigation
Amazon has halted cargo flights with carrier 21 Air after one of its planes crashed on September 6 in Miami. The crash is currently under investigation, and Amazon is working closely with authorities to determine the cause.
In a separate development, Prime Big Deal Days will take place from October 6-7, 2026, offering over 1 million items at discounted prices. Early deals will be available from September 15, with discounts ranging up to 40% on Essentials and Basics, up to 45% on select devices, and up to 70% on Blink products.
Amazon has also made significant strides in its financial operations, selling £4.25 billion worth of UK-denominated notes across various tranches maturing between 2029 and 2045. The aggregate public price for these notes was approximately £4.24 billion, with net proceeds coming close to that amount.
Furthermore, Amazon's partnership with Ninth Wave has led to a significant reduction in data mapping and integration testing effort among banks using Compass, which is built on Amazon Bedrock and AWS Bedrock AgentCore. This collaboration has resulted in a decrease of up to 95% in these efforts, allowing for onboarding times to be reduced from weeks to mere minutes.
