Amazon Heated Blankets Recalled After Dozens of Burn Injuries Reported
A massive recall of heated blankets and pads sold on Amazon has been issued after numerous reports of burn injuries. According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, JKMax has recalled nearly 200,000 heating blankets and pads due to overheating issues with the heating element wire.
The recall affects multiple models of heated blankets and pads, all of which were sold on Amazon between September 2022 and July 2026. The products, which are machine washable and come with a detachable remote control, have been linked to 577 reports of smoking, melting, or burning.
As of September 17th, JKMax was aware of 53 burn injuries related to the recalled products. Consumers who own one of the affected models can contact JKMax for a full refund by visiting their website, jkmaxrecall.com, or calling 800-917-5723 between 8:30 am and 6 pm ET, Monday through Friday.
The recall number is 26-778. Consumers are advised to stop using the products immediately and follow the instructions provided by JKMax for a refund.
