Amazon Hits $3 Trillion Valuation Milestone, Aims for $4 Trillion
Amazon has reached a new milestone by crossing the $3 trillion mark in market value for the first time on Monday, closing at $284.02 and up over 4% from the previous day.
The company's operating income rose 43% year-over-year to $27.5 billion, led by Amazon Web Services (AWS), which grew sales 37% year-over-year to $42.2 billion in the second quarter.
Amazon plans to spend around $220 billion on capital expenditures this year, up from its previous projection of $200 billion, and CEO Andy Jassy stated that even this amount will not be enough to meet all the demand the company already has for 2026.
To reach a valuation of $4 trillion, Amazon would need a 31% gain in stock price, which would put it at around $371 per share. This milestone is expected to be driven by profit growth, with the current pace covering the distance with room to spare.
