Amazon Invests Big in Driver Pay and Safety with $1.9 Billion Delivery Plan
Amazon has announced plans to invest $1.9 billion in its Delivery Service Partner program in 2027, aiming to increase driver pay to a national average of nearly $24 per hour.
This represents an average 16% pay increase over the past three years for delivery associates nationwide.
The investment is part of Amazon's effort to improve safety on the road, with serious vehicle crashes across its delivery network decreasing more than 23% last year.
The company attributed this decline to safety investments totaling more than $543 million since 2022 and leadership from delivery service partner owners.
