Amazon Invests in Taiwan's Gold Circuit Amid Global AI Boom

Taiwan-based printed circuit board (PCB) manufacturer Gold Circuit Electronics Inc. has secured investment from e-commerce and cloud computing giant Amazon.

The investment will see Amazon subscribe to around 1.86 million Gold Circuit shares at NT$856 (USD 27.14) per share, with the total share acquisition costing around NT$1.589 billion (USD 54.45 million).

This move comes amid a worldwide artificial intelligence boom, which is accelerating product demand for specialized circuit boards required in AI servers.

GOLD CIRCUIT also announced expansion plans to scale up its manufacturing infrastructure and support anticipated operational volumes, with a capital expenditure program worth NT$7.9 billion (USD 270.73 million) funded through the issuance of convertible bonds.
