Amazon Lifts Wall Street as AI Fears Fade
Wall Street ended higher on Friday after Amazon's strong quarterly report calmed investor jitters about artificial intelligence-related stocks. The tech giant surged more than 15% as its results alleviated concerns that heavy investments in AI infrastructure may be taking too long to pay off.
The S&P 500 climbed 0.70% to end the session at 7,489.72 points, despite Apple's 7.4% drop after warning of supply constraints and potential weakness in consumer demand.
Microsoft rose 3%, adding to its gains after forecasting stronger-than-expected cloud growth on Thursday, while Monolithic Power Systems jumped over 8% after forecasting third-quarter revenue above estimates.
