Amazon has signed a 20-year power-purchase agreement with Constellation Energy Corp. to purchase 690 megawatts of power from its Calvert Cliffs nuclear plant in Maryland.

The deal includes 190 megawatts of new capacity that will come from upgrading the existing reactors at the site, which is located on the Chesapeake Bay near Lusby, Maryland.

Constellation said the agreement will support more than $3 billion in investments in Maryland's energy infrastructure and help boost capacity at the only nuclear reactors in the state.
