Amazon Locks in Kuehne+Nagel for Seven-Year Cloud Infrastructure Deal
Swiss logistics giant Kuehne+Nagel has entered into a seven-year partnership with Amazon to support the operational needs of its cloud computing arm, Amazon Web Services (AWS).
The partnership covers the full lifecycle of infrastructure from construction and equipment deployment to maintenance and upgrades. It also includes subscription options on Kuehne+Nagel's existing shares that can be settled in either cash or stock.
Kuehne+Nagel will participate deeply in the logistics and supply chain management of AWS's global infrastructure, enhancing its efficiency and flexibility. The company has engaged third-party financial institutions to execute hedging transactions on its shares to support the exercise of the subscription options.
The partnership design aligns the interests of both parties, with Kuehne+Nagel required to achieve commercial milestones and service levels for Amazon to exercise related rights.
