Amazon Names Chris Bailey Site Leader at Swansea Fulfillment Centre

Chris Bailey has been named Site Leader at Amazon's Swansea fulfillment centre. He was born and bred in the local area, joining Amazon in 2010 as a seasonal associate while completing his master's degree in business management, specializing in operations.

Bailey progressed through various levels of the business over the past 14 years, becoming Area Manager, Operations Manager, and eventually Regional Operations Manager for the West Cluster. He oversaw seven sites across the UK, shaping Amazon's Delivery Estimate Accuracy (DEA) strategy by implementing mechanisms that remain in place today.

Bailey returned to the Swansea site in 2024 and passed his Site Leader assessment in February of this year. The Swansea fulfillment centre is one of only three Amazon buildings in the UK that combines inbound, outbound, and customer returns operations under one roof.

When asked about his new role, Bailey stated, 'I really love this building, and I love what Amazon has given me.' He emphasized the opportunities available at Amazon, saying, 'The really cool thing about Amazon is that there's so much under its scope, you can move between different teams, and there's a role to fit everybody's niche.'

Amazon was named as a 'Top Employer UK 2026' by the Top Employer Institute, recognizing their commitment to employee development and well-being.
