Amazon Nears Green Light on New Spider-Man Series Based on Clone Saga
A new 'Spider-Man' TV series is reportedly nearing a green light at Amazon Prime Video. The show would follow the 1990s 'Clone Saga' comic book storyline, featuring Ben Reilly and Kaine Parker as main characters.
The 'Clone Saga', spanning multiple years, saw Peter Parker come into contact with an old clone of his who had taken on the identity of Ben Reilly, fighting crime as the Scarlet Spider. Kaine, a more aggressive and less successful clone of Peter, also played a significant role in the storyline.
Reilly was initially created in 1975's 'The Amazing Spider-Man #149' by Gerry Conway and Ross Andru, while Kaine debuted in 1994's 'Web of Spider-Man #119' by Terry Kavanagh and Steven Butler. The series would be set in the Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters.
