Amazon Now Surpasses $1B in Indian Quick-Commerce Sales
Amazon's quick-commerce arm in India has achieved a significant milestone, crossing $1 billion in annualized gross sales over the trailing three months. This marks the fastest scale-up of any e-commerce unit in Amazon's Indian history.
The service, called Amazon Now, has seen orders double every quarter since its launch. It currently processes around 700,000 daily orders, accounting for roughly a 10% share of the quick-commerce market by orders and about 14% by value.
Amazon aims to expand further in India, targeting 100 cities by Diwali and 1,000 dark stores by year-end as part of its plan to cover over 300 cities nationally. The company's global numbers also show momentum, with net sales rising 20% year-over-year in the second quarter of 2026.
The quick-commerce push in India draws comparisons with Walmart's Flipkart Minutes and DoorDash, which are also navigating instant-delivery bets in the same market.
