A devastating crash at Miami International Airport has left two runways closed after an Amazon Air cargo plane overran the runway, killing five people and injuring five others.

The Sunday crash is being investigated by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

The plane struck multiple vehicles and caught fire, prompting a massive emergency response, a ground stop, and widespread flight disruptions.

Initially, all four of the airport's runways were closed, but two have since reopened. However, airport operations remain impacted due to cancellations over the past few days.

Passengers with flights scheduled today should check directly with their airline for flight status updates before heading to the airport, according to the airport announcement on X.
