Amazon is stepping in to help local food vendors and artists affected by the shooting at Bite of Seattle, an annual festival held at the Seattle Center. The tech giant has pledged $350,000 in aid to support those impacted.

The majority of the funds will go toward reimbursing 130 Washington-based vendors who were on site during the three-day event in July. According to Rob Johnson, executive director of the Seattle Center Foundation, these vendors will receive up to $5,000 to cover losses incurred due to equipment and cash theft.

A smaller portion of the donation, totaling $250,000, will be distributed among other retail vendors and performing artists, with each receiving up to $1,000. Additionally, Amazon is allocating $100,000 toward marketing and assistance for 30 nonprofit tenants around Seattle Center.
