Amazon Pours $1.9 Billion into Delivery Partner Program Amid Safety Push
Amazon is investing $1.9 billion in its Delivery Service Partner (DSP) program by 2027, aiming to increase driver pay to nearly $24 per hour nationwide.
This represents a 16% average pay increase over the past three years for delivery associates across the country.
The company attributes a 23% decrease in serious vehicle crashes last year to its safety investments totaling more than $543 million since 2022, as well as leadership from DSP owners.
Amazon is deploying surround-view cameras in Rivian electric vehicles, with installation expected in 50% of the fleet by year-end.
The company has invested a total of $21.7 billion in the DSP program over its eight-year history and is expanding the use of Smart Delivery Glasses, AI-powered wearable devices that display navigation and delivery information.
