Amazon Pours Billions into Arizona Economy
Amazon has invested over $40 billion in Arizona since 2007 and has contributed more than $40 billion to the state's economy. The company employs over 35,000 full- and part-time workers and supports an additional 20,000 indirect jobs in industries such as construction, logistics, and professional services.
Amazon provides competitive wages and comprehensive benefits from Day 1, including health insurance starting on Day 1 and up to 20 weeks of fully paid parental leave. Operations employees earn an average hourly base wage of more than $23, with total compensation averaging over $30 per hour when including benefits.
The company has invested in workforce development and upskilling through its Career Choice program, which partners with 14 educational institutions in Arizona to provide free education and skills training programs. Since 2019, over 5,300 Amazon employees have participated in these programs.
