Amazon Prime Cargo Plane Crashes in Miami, Killing Five

An Amazon Prime Air cargo plane crashed at Miami International Airport on Sunday, killing at least five people and injuring five others.

The Boeing 767-300 freighter, registered as N1997A, overshot the runway while attempting to land, striking multiple vehicles and erupting into a blaze. Videos from the scene showed thick black smoke rising from the plane.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said first responders encountered 'heavy flames' and a fuel leak during the rescue efforts. The fire was largely extinguished by 2:08 p.m., according to radio transmissions recorded on Broadcastify.

The cause of the crash is still unknown, but officials are working closely with Amazon and local authorities to understand what happened. The Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy announced a full ground stop at the airport while first responders assess the scene.
