Amazon Raises Operations Staff Wage to $20 Amid Expanded Discounts
Amazon has raised its starting wage for operations staff in the US to $20 per hour. This increase applies to hundreds of thousands of workers at one of the country's largest private employers, according to a recent announcement by the company.
The new wage is now on par with that of Costco, which set its minimum at $20 in 2025. Amazon's operations staff includes logistics and transportation workers at fulfillment centers across the US.
Amazon has also expanded its discounts for employees at Whole Foods Market. Eligible fresh items and everyday staples are now available at a 10% discount on Amazon.com and Whole Foods Market Online, with an additional 20% off in-store at Whole Foods.
