Amazon Readies for $10B Prime Day, Expands Same-Day Delivery Network
Amazon is gearing up for its Prime Day event on October 6-7, and analysts project that it could generate about $10 billion in online sales. This would be a significant boost to the 2026 online holiday season.
GuruFocus reports that Amazon plans to expand its Sub Same-Day network from 85 sites to over 1,000 by 2031, which will stock around 90,000 SKUs and cost $6.8 billion over three years. The project is expected to become cash-flow positive by 2030.
Amazon has also partnered with CSL to use its AWS cloud and AI to analyze research data, speed up target discovery, shorten timelines, and automate protocol drafting, data management, and regulatory tasks. This partnership may help Amazon reduce costs associated with AI development.
