The Echo Dot's price, for example, has jumped from $49.99 to $79.99 overnight, reflecting the broader industry challenges caused by a surge in AI-driven demand for memory.

According to OpenCV, the shortage is expected to persist through 2027, with prices potentially stabilizing in 2028.
