CancerVax, Inc., a preclinical biotech company, has welcomed news from Moderna and Merck's Phase 3 clinical trial results on their personalized cancer vaccine for melanoma. The study used LNP-mRNA technology and showed positive topline results.

The INTerpath-001 trial demonstrated that an mRNA-based approach can help mobilize the immune system against cancer, marking an important milestone for the field. This validation of the delivery platform is crucial for CancerVax's non-personalized, off-the-shelf cancer vaccines currently in pre-clinical development.

CancerVax views its universal cancer vaccine as a fundamentally different approach that does not rely on creating individualized treatments for every patient. Instead, it uses existing antiviral immunity to attack cancer cells, making it advantageous for patients whose immune systems have been impacted by prior therapies.
