Amazon Stock Predicted to Grow 155% Over Next Five Years
Amazon's (AMZN) future prospects are being closely watched by investors and analysts. According to recent projections, a $5,000 investment in Amazon stock could be worth around $12,770 by September 2031, representing a 155% return.
This estimate is based on the company's growing AWS revenue, which reached $42.2 billion in Q2 2026, up 37% year over year. The AWS backlog now stands at $496 billion, with CEO Andy Jassy predicting that it could become a 'trillion dollar annual revenue business'.
Other factors contributing to the positive outlook include Amazon's investment in AI and custom silicon, which have already cleared $25 billion annualized run rates in Q2. Additionally, advertising revenue grew 26% year over year to $19.8 billion in Q2.
However, there are also risks that could impact Amazon's growth, including high capital expenditures, negative free cash flow, and regulatory challenges. These concerns are reflected in the bear case scenario, which estimates a $5,000 investment would be worth around $7,902 by 2031.
