Amazon Sued by FTC, Boosts The Trade Desk Stock

The Trade Desk's stock surged up to 5.2% on Wednesday, reaching as high as $4.7% as of 12:31 p.m. ET.

This increase is attributed to reports that Amazon is facing a lawsuit from the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) for allegedly deceptive ad pricing practices.

The FTC claims that Amazon secretly and systematically overcharged advertisers by adding undisclosed surcharges to its real-time ad auctions, which was allegedly done because it was unhappy with the revenue generated from these auctions.

The Trade Desk has long advocated for transparent pricing in digital advertising, which is seen as a key differentiator from competitors like Amazon's walled garden ecosystem.
