A class-action lawsuit has been filed against Amazon alleging that the company failed to provide basic workplace accommodations for pregnant employees and then fired or threatened to fire them when they took breaks or time off for pregnancy-related reasons.

The lawsuit claims that thousands of currently and previously pregnant employees were affected by Amazon's actions. One plaintiff, Willamina Barclay, 38, said she was fired four days after providing a doctor's note explaining her pregnancy-related condition.

An Amazon spokesperson responded to the allegations, stating, 'We take every team member’s situation seriously, and when we find that we got something incorrect, we work hard to make it right.'
