Amazon Unveils Massive Data Center Expansion in Missouri
Amazon announced plans to invest several billion dollars in a data center campus in Montgomery County, Missouri. The project is expected to create over 400 full-time jobs and thousands of construction positions.
The expansion represents a major tech infrastructure push in the state, with Amazon planning to spend $200 billion on capital expenditure this year. This includes specialized AI compute, data centers, and global networking pipelines.
Ameren Missouri will provide power for the facility, with Amazon negotiating directly with the utility provider to fully cover its needs. The company will also donate the physical utility network to Montgomery County Public Water Supply District No. 1 at no cost.
