Amazon Unveils New Fire TV Stick 4K at $60, Replacing Select and Plus Models

Amazon has introduced a new Fire TV Stick 4K, priced at $60. This device replaces both the Fire TV Stick 4K Select and 4K Plus in Amazon's lineup. The new Fire TV Stick 4K shares design similarities with the refreshed Fire TV Stick HD, including a slimmer profile and USB-C connectivity.

The new remote features an orange Home button and a customizable Star button that can launch any app. However, unlike its predecessor, the new device does not support Dolby Vision or Dolby Atmos. It also runs on Vega OS, Amazon's new Linux-based operating system, which offers improved performance and security.

Amazon has priced its new Fire TV Stick 4K at $60, but it is currently available at a temporary discount of 50 percent off for $30. The company has simplified its Fire TV Stick lineup to just three models: the Fire TV Stick HD, 4K, and 4K Max.

The older Fire TV Stick 4K Select and 4K Plus will remain available while supplies last. Amazon declined to comment on future plans for refreshing the Fire TV Stick 4K Max, which still runs Android-based Fire OS.
