Amazon Unveils Redesigned Kindle E-Readers with Flush Displays
Amazon has revamped its Kindle e-readers for 2026, introducing new designs and features to their lineup. The base Kindle, Kindle Paperwhite, and Kindle Colorsoft have all received significant redesigns.
The new Kindles feature flush displays, with the power button relocated from the bottom to the side. They also boast aluminum casings as an optional upgrade for a more premium feel. Amazon has also made improvements to performance, claiming that the Kindle 2026 is 30% faster in opening books compared to its predecessor.
The prices for the new Kindles start at $149.99 for the base model with 16GB of storage, and go up to $249.99 for the Signature Edition of the Paperwhite, which features an aluminum casing and additional features such as auto-adjusting front light and pogo pin dock charging.
The new Kindles will be released on October 28 and are available for pre-order now. Amazon has also introduced new Kids versions of all three Kindle models with colorful covers, 12 months of Amazon Kids+, and a starting price of $179.99.
