Amazon Unveils Sweeping Employee Benefits Amidst Record Meal Deliveries
Amazon made several major announcements on Friday, showcasing its commitment to employee benefits and community support. The company revealed that it had delivered over 2 million meals to students in rural communities through a partnership with No Kid Hungry and 18 food banks across 13 states.
This effort is part of Amazon's broader initiative to provide support to children in need, particularly during the summer months when they may rely on school-provided meals. By partnering with local food banks, Amazon aimed to ensure that kids have access to nutritious meals regardless of their location or financial situation.
Amazon also increased its minimum starting pay for full-time core operations employees to $20 an hour, with average pay reaching nearly $24 an hour. This move is designed to attract and retain top talent in the industry while providing a living wage for employees.
