Amazon Warriors Edge Unicorns in Thrilling GPL Final
Defending champions Guyana Amazon Warriors secured their title in the ExxonMobil Guyana Super League T20 Final against San Francisco Unicorns, winning by six runs. The match was a low-scoring thriller, with the Warriors posting 85 runs in 18.5 overs after being reduced to 29 for eight at one stage.
A 41-run partnership between Matthew Forde and Dwaine Pretorius helped boost their total, with Forde top-scoring with 28 off 23 balls. The Unicorns had looked set to win earlier, but a collapse saw them lose five wickets for just five runs to slump to 58 for eight.
The Unicorns' Anirudh Immanuel took three wickets apiece, while Pretorius and Mohammad Nabi both grabbed three wickets to turn the game around. Nabi was named Player-of-the-Match with figures of 3-12.
