NVIDIA's stock rose approximately 0.6% in Friday's regular-session trading as of 10:19 a.m. ET, following Amazon's announcement to increase its planned capital expenditure to $220 billion.

This represents a 10% expansion from the previously announced $200 billion and is largely attributed to the growing demand for AI infrastructure.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) reported a 37% revenue growth, its strongest performance in over four years. Chief Executive Andy Jassy noted that much of the cloud capacity expected during 2027, as well as some scheduled for 2028, has already been reserved.

Jassy reaffirmed Amazon's partnership with NVIDIA and emphasized the importance of their processors for many AWS customers, while also developing Trainium processors to provide an alternative to externally supplied AI chips.
