Amazon's Anthropic Stake Could Be Worth Over 400 Billion

Amazon's investment in AI start-up Anthropic has been a lucrative one. The tech giant invested $8 billion in the company in 2024, followed by an additional $5 billion this year. This gave Amazon a reported 21% stake in Anthropic, which is valued at over $2 trillion.

According to secondary markets, Anthropic's valuation has been increasing rapidly, with estimates ranging from $1.2 trillion to over $2 trillion. If the company goes public as early as October and achieves a $2 trillion valuation, Amazon's stake would be worth around $420 billion.

This would make Anthropic one of the most valuable companies in which Amazon has invested. The tech giant's executive chairman, Jeff Bezos, and CEO Andy Jassy could realize a significant profit if they sell some or all of their shares.
