Amazon's Kindles Get Physical Buttons Back (Sort Of)
Jesse, a lifelong tech enthusiast and writer for various publications, shared his experience with Amazon's Kindle e-readers. He remembers fondly using physical buttons to turn pages on older Kindles but switched to touch-only models over time.
However, Amazon recently released the Page-Turn Cover, which attaches to new 2026 Signature Editions of the Paperwhite and Colorsoft Kindles with physical buttons for page turning. This compromise solution doesn't require a full device upgrade but still has limitations, such as only working on the latest models.
The Kindle Click, a Bluetooth remote, is another option that works with any Kindle model from 2024 or later. It's a small, palm-sized device that lets users turn pages, adjust screen brightness, and put their e-reader to sleep with a pair of side buttons. This solution offers more flexibility than the Page-Turn Cover but still has its own set of limitations.
